The Milton Reads! 2012 town wide reading initiative kicked off last week end with an Open House. The One Book, One Town program is offering a series of events around the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The Friends of the Library served some southern fare, tea and cobbler, and Artspace Milton ran an activity that keyed off a major theme of the book: You cannot understand a man until you have walked around in his shoes.
Books, bumper stickers (“What would Atticus do?”), and a schedule of events were available. . . and still are! Books are available for $5 from the Friends of the Library book store and you can find a schedule of events here. The next event is a drop-in book discussion group at the library on September 27th.
