Earthly Possessions, East Milton fixture, is closing

by Frank Schroth

Sandy Miller, owner of the popular gift shop, Earthly Possessions, in the Milton Marketplace, has announced she is closing the store after almost 24 years. The Fruit Center Marketplace is not going to renew the lease. They informed her they will be using the space to expand and meet their needs for food storage and preparation.

The shop features a wide array of gifts including crafts of her own. Ms. Miller makes jewelry, scarves, and pillows. She is perhaps best known for her “Thingies,” clever jigsaw puzzles. According to a statement on her web site, Ms. Miller intends to continue the craft work. The “Thingies” will be manufactured by Springbok.

Ms. Miller needs to clear out her inventory by the end of the year and says, “Please buy whatever you can. We have so much inventory, all fabulous stuff.” You can find the Earthly Possessions web site along with pictures of Ms. Millers craft work here.
