Tany Walsh, a mathematics teacher from the Cunningham School, will be going to Washington, D.C. She is one of only three Massachusetts teachers nominated for The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. It is a great achievement.
In addressing the committee Ms. Walsh said, “I feel like I’ve already won . . . I am lucky to work in such a spectacular school . . . I like seeing the students smile. . . and I think Dr. Spaulding for believing in me.. . . This is something I will remember for the rest of my life.”
“This is something I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Dr. Spaulding, who was principal at Cunningham and is taking reins of the Pierce, said Ms. Walsh was “exceptional.” She knows the students from day 1 and “found a way to reach every one of them!”
GOOD LUCH MS. WALSH!
