MPL’s Wotiz Gallery to host variety of art exhibits this fall

The Milton Public Library will be hosting several great artists in the Wotiz Gallery during Fall 2012. In September, painter Harriet Kuliopulos will bring her lovely Boston and New England landscapes to the gallery, including such subjects as the Arnold Arboretum and seascapes of Cape Cod and Cape Ann. All of her work is original and these oil paintings are done in the impressionistic plein air tradition.

In October, photographer Lonnie Landrey will display images of Boston area scenes, including many taken in Milton. This talented craftsman does both fine art and traditional Gelatin Silver photography. In the month of November, the library welcomes Faith Ninivaggi, a Milton photographer. Ms. Ninivaggi is a photojournalist and fine art photographer, and her work ranges from news, documentary, portraits, and musicians to personal photos.

And then in December, a group called Painters for a Purpose will grace the library’s gallery with pastels from many area fine artists. We are thankful to Milton artist Laurinda O’Connor for bringing this wonderful display to us. In the spirit of the holidays, Painters for a Purpose will donate 30% of any sales to the Milton Food Pantry and plan to collect additional food for the pantry at the same time. There will also be a drawing for a beautiful pastel donated by one of their artists, Patricia Laliberte, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Pantry.

A free public reception will be held at the beginning of each month, with dates to be announced. Please take some time to stop by and enjoy the exhibits. You may check our website at www.miltonlibrary.org for more event details.
