Milton Triathletes Complete at Ironman Lake Placid

(Lake Placid, NY) – On Sunday, June 22nd, Milton resident Michael Lamoureux completed his second 140-mile Ironman triathlon in Lake Placid, NY. Completing a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile marathon in 10 hours, 28 minutes and 13 seconds, he was the 75th finisher out of 2,500 athletes.

On August 18th, Michael will race in the USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championships in Burlington, VT, a qualifier for the International Triathlon Union World Championships in London. And the following weekend, he will participate in the Cranberry Trifest in Lakeville, MA to race in a sprint triathlon on Saturday and an Olympic distance triathlon on Sunday. The competitor with the fastest combined times from both races is crowned “King of the Cranberry”, an honor Mike held in 2010. The 2011 race was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene, but he will attempt to maintain his title in 2012.

Fellow Milton resident and endurance athlete, Bob Falconi finished Ironman Lake Placid in 13 hours, 33 minutes and 35 seconds. Bob has completed several Ironman competitions across the country and a recent 100-mile endurance run. He will advance to participate in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in October.
