MHS Bulletin for 11.19.08

  • The next Group Guidance session will be on Thursday at 7:50 am. We will follow a “C” schedule that day. Seniors in Group 12A must report to the library immediately upon arrival to school for their fourth session of Group Guidance. At the same time, Mrs. Cove’s seniors in Group 12B will meet for Library Lab.
  • Attention Juniors: Pep Rally T-Shirts are for sale this week at all three lunches. Cost is $12. Please see a class officer or Mrs. Damiani with any questions.
  • Attention Juniors: If anyone wants to participate in spirit week events and did not si, please see Mrs. Damiani today.
  • Attention Seniors: Don’t forget to submit your favorite candid photo’s to the Facebook page “Candids 09″… Submit your Fall Fling photo’s asap!
  • Winter Sports sign-ups in the Athletic Director’s Office through November 25.
  • Attention Seniors: Any senior who is interested in taking the AFL-CIO Scholarship Exam on February 4, 2009 must sign up in the guidance office. All students signing up will be required to complete an application and pick up a study guide.
  • There will be a brief Echo meeting after school today in room 220. We will be discussing submissions and a bake sale. All members should attend and new members are always welcome!
  • All Student Leaders are reminded to meet in Ms. Parsons room after school today.
  • Recycling Club will not meet this week. Club will meet next Tuesday after school in Ms. Gallagher’s room.
  • The Greek Club will be sponsoring a bake sale on after school today in the main lobby. All members must bring something. See K. Kourtelidis, G. Varsamis, or S. Dance for more details. All proceeds will go to the Greek Club.
  • The following Juniors should report to the Library during Group Guidance on Thursday, November 20th to complete Connect! account registration : Jordan Baskin, Deandre Bullock, Renald Calixte, Steve Carignan, Thomas Cater, Lorenzo Leathers, Elizabeth Meyer, Steve Mirville, Matthew Mullan, Joseph Mulrey and Adam Walker.
  • October Library Books – Students are reminded to make returns at the Circulation Desk. Thank you.
  • Invisible Children Club will be having a brief meeting after school on Thursday.
  • Boys interested in Indoor Winter Track please attend a meeting on Thursday at 2:30 in the field house.
  • Girls interested in playing Basketball must attend a mandatory meeting after school on Thursday inside the field house.
  • The Sewing Club members who volunteered for the sale during Parent Conferences should see Mrs. Lovett right after school on Thurs. in Rm. 239.
  • All Volleyball Players who ordered sweat pants must see Coach Lee in room 102 by the close of school Thursday for a fitting. Also, all three teams will be canning this Saturday (11/22) from 9-12. Please see Coach Lee for specific times.
  • The Observer will have a meeting on Thursday. All writers must have their articles in by Friday, November 21.
  • Don’t miss this Friday night’s Decades Dance in the field house from 8-11 pm. Prizes for the best outfits representing the 60’s, 70’s 80’s or 90’s. No one admitted after 9:00 pm. Tickets $10 and will be sold at the door.
  • Attention Freshmen: Pep Rally poster making day is this Friday in room 220 after school. Bring paper, markers, glitter, paints… Show your MHS spirit!!
  • The Environment Club is planning a hike at Great Blue Hill (with Sunday, December 7 as a possible date). Come to a meeting on Monday in room 122 if you are interested.
  • There will be a drive for Pet Supplies (toys, food) and Office Supplies for the Milton Animal Shelter. Donation boxes are in rooms 122 and 124. Please see posters around the school.
  • Attention all trained PEP Club members! Mandatory meeting next Monday right after school in room 108. You must attend this meeting in order to take part in the elementary school presentations.
  • The Math Club will meet on Monday, November 24th at 3:00 in room 123. Please bring your Rubik’s Cube and a writing utensil.
  • Community Service Opportunities:
  1. The Pierce PTO needs several volunteers on Wednesday, December 3rd from 3:30 till 9:30 pm. Volunteers will be helping before, during and after their annual craft fair. It is not necessary to stay the entire 6 hours. Please contact Karen DeLuca at k.deluca@comcast.net if you would like to help.
  2. Fitness Unlimited, an all women’s club in East Milton, is hosting a shopping bizarre and fundraiser for Toys for Tots on Sunday, November 23rd from 12 – 5. They need 5 students to help with set-up, childcare, and assorted tasks during the event. Please contact Beth Whitney at 617 698-0260 x 29.
  3. A student is needed to provide various tasks for a senior citizen. Duties would include shoveling, light yard work, and carrying groceries. Please contact Mrs. Mosinger at r.mosinger@comcast.net
  4. The Tucker PTO needs students for childcare this Thursday, Nov. 20th from 6:45 – 8:45 pm. Please sign up in the community service office.
