Maureen Conlon is Grand Champion of “Dancing With the Fontbonne Stars”

“Dancing with the Fontbonne Stars” was held on Saturday, November 12, at the Sons of Italy Hall in Braintree.  It was an evening filled with music, dance and excitement as five contestants took to the floor to compete in this first-ever competition/fundraiser.  The dancers, many of whom were alumnae or parents in the Fontbonne Academy community, were paired with professional dancers and went through months of training in anticipation of the event.

 The winners of the dance competition of the first ever “Dancing with The Fontbonne Stars.”  From left to right:  Rita Senier won First Prize for the best Solo dance (she was paired with professional dancer Marcus Arieta), Fontbonne Academy’s Athletic Director Ellen Sullivan won for the Best Waltz (paired with Vlad Derisier of Ballroom in Boston), and alum and Milton resident Maureen Conlon won the top prize in the competition, Grand Champion (paired with Wayne Ong of Ballroom in Boston)

The event raised over $30,000 a portion of which will go toward wellness programs at Fontbonne.   Milton resident, Maureen Conlon, was the Grand Champion of the evening.  Photos of the evening can be found on the Fontbonne Academy website, www.fontbonneacademy.org.
