One of the two sets of Glover playground equipment was set on fire and severely damaged. The playground is now cordoned off with yellow police tape.
This is the third incident in a week. There had been a fight between Quincy and Milton youths at Cunningham Park which resulted on one individual going to the emergency room with minor stab wounds to his arm on Saturday night. One arrest has been made in that incident.
The previous week end glass from broken beer bottles was found around Cunningham pool resulting in the pool being closed until the debris could be cleaned up.
A story in today’s Patriot Ledger reports that residents near the park are aware that it is a popular gathering place and party spot for teens. You can find that story here.
No details on the vandalism at the Glover School are available at this time. It appears that the part of the structure that incurred the most damage was the plastic sections. It is possible some type of flammable material was used to set fire to the apparatus.
