CONGRATULATIONS to the MHS Class of 2011!

It happens every year around this time; but it never gets any less special.

Congratulations to this year’s graduates! To their achivements and getting it done, to their parents, families, and friends, who made the journey with them, and to their teachers, who worked to lead the way.

It is a beautiful, bright and clear day. Enjoy every minute. And Good Luck!

Following are some words from Dr. Seuss who gave the commencement address at Lake Forest College in 1977. They are printed in their entirety.

My uncle ordered popovers

from the restaurant’s bill of fare.

And when they were served,

he regarded them with a penetrating stare . . .

Then he spoke great Words of Wisdom

as he sat there on that chair:

“To eat these things,” said my uncle,

“you must exercise great care.

You may swallow down what’s solid . . .

BUT . . .

you must spit out the air!”

And as you partake of the world’s bill of fare,

That’s darned good advice to follow.

Do a lot of spitting out the hot air

And be careful what you swallow.
