MHS Bulletin for 04.06.09

  • Congratulations to the following Latin students for their academic excellence on the National Latin Exam. They competed with over 135, 000 students from all over the US and 11 foreign countries. They are Patrick Mullen, Lorenz Manker, and Lauren Sweeney – Silver Medals;  Sam Shepard, Alexandra Schiffman, and David Collins – Magna Cum Laude; and Michael Rodensky, John Huntington, and Maya Rosmarin – Cum Laude. Thanks to all the students who participated.
  • On Wednesday, Sophomores in Group 10A will meet in the Library for their fourth  session of Group Guidance.  Mrs. Cove’s juniors in Group 11C will meet for Library Lab.  On Thursday, Sophomores in Group 10B will meet for Group Guidance and Mr. McPartland’s juniors in Group 11B will meet in Library Lab.
  • Today is Red Sox Hat Day.
  • Seniors:   Stop in guidance to pick up copies of the applications for the Boston Globe Scholar-Athlete Scholarship (due May 1) and the Milton National Little League Scholarship (due May 8).
  • Seniors, please remember to bring in copies of ALL your College Decision Letters to the Guidance Office as soon as possible. Thank you.
  • Spanish Club Members are reminded to get their signed permission slips in ASAP. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday. All members going on the field trip must attend.
  • Outdoors Club will meet today in room 211.  New members welcome!
  • Mandatory SADD meeting today in Room 305.
  • Spring Dance Team auditions will be held after school today in Mrs. Damiani’s room (245). Come ready to dance! See Mrs. Damiani with any questions.
  • French Club meeting on Tuesday after school in room 306.
  • The Art Club will be meeting on Tuesday to paint slates and work on their own projects from 2:30 to 3:30 pm in room 106.
  • Boston National College Fair on Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm at the Boston Convention Center.
  • Mandatory AP pre-registration session during activity period on Wednesday for all juniors taking AP exams in May.  Mandatory session on Thursday for seniors.  Please bring pencils.
  • Are you ready to debate?  The Debate Club will be debating “Chris Brown vs. Rihanna – Who’s to blame? On Wednesday at 2:30.  Get ready or come to watch and see how points are proven.  Go to Felicia Iyamu or Mr. Fitzgerald with any questions.
  • All Spain travelers need to get in their checks for $97.50 by April 9, 2009!
  • Mark you calendars for the Comic Hypnotist Show on April 9 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm.  The cost is $10 per person.  All are invited and seniors who wish to be in the show must have permission from a parent/guardian.  Tickets available at lunches; proceeds to benefit the All Night Graduation Party.
  • Are you interested in education? policy making? government?   If so, then the Greater Boston Regional Student Advisory Council may be the place for you! If you are interested, see Ms. Crowley in 222 by Monday, April 13.
  • Attention all Seniors:  End high school with a bang!  Show off your secret (or not-so-secret talent) on May 3rd in our Senior Class Talent Show!  Don’t be shy! Talk to Brittany O’Rourke, Kate Shea, or Kiri Cormack for more details.
  • Sign-up sheet will be outside Ms. Yifru’s room for your act review on April 6th.  Support your class with your talents and participation.  Senior Year… No Regrets.  Hope to see you there!
