MVAA conducts survey to gauge public support of elementary arts education

A recently formed group of Milton school parents, the Milton Visual Arts Alliance, conducted a survey recently to gauge parents knowledge of the state of arts instruction in the school and their support for visual arts as an important and fundamental part of the curriclum.

The survey was circulated through contacts, PTOs etc. They received and compiled the 100 responses they received in time for the last School Committee meeting.

Key findings include:

    92% believe that art should be an integral parrt of their child’s education
    All are concerned that the level of arts education is below that provided by other towns, 87% are very concerned

The group also solicited those surveyed to provide a statement if desired. You can find the full survey and comments below.
