MPS invite parents to hear John Halligan speak on Cyberbullying

Parents of students in grades 6-12 are invited to attend a presentation by John Halligan on Tuesday, October 12 in the Milton High School auditorium. The talk is scheduled to start at 7:00pm and will end at 8:30pm.

Mr. Halligan’s son, Ryan, died by suicide in 2003 after being bullied by classmates at school and online. He was 13 years old.

Mr. Halligan’s lecture is entitled “Bullying, Cyberbullying and Youth Depression.” His presentation will cover the lessons learned too late for his family regarding how to deal with these topics.

Public, private and parochial school parents have been invited to this event, which is
sponsored by the Pierce Middle School PTO and the Milton Public Schools.

Mr. Halligan will speak to Milton Public School students in grades 7-12 during the school day on Oct. 12 and 13.
