The Milton Board of Health will be holding a general public flu clinic on Thursday, October 10th from 4 – 7 pm at the Senior Center/Council on Aging, 10 Walnut Street. This clinic is open to all Milton residents ages 4 and up. We are able to accept Medicare B and most other HMO’s so please bring your insurance cards with you. If you do not have health insurance, we will also have state supplied vaccine available to you free of charge.

Milton’s Jenny Slate appearing on new HBO comedy

Milton actress Jenny Slate will be one of the guest stars on the new HBO dating comedy “Hello Ladies,” premiering at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. In it, Stephen Merchant, who, along with Ricky Gervais, created “The Office” and “Extras,” stars as Stuart, an awkward single guy pursuing an array of women that are out his league. Mtg notes: School Committee 09.18.13 – School enrollment at 4,000; Residency update

Assistant Superintendent John Phelan provided the school committee with updates on district enrollment and residency determination.
Phelan reported that the number of students enrolled as of meeting was 4,024. Since instituting the cap on French enrollment the breakdown is 52% French vs 48% English.

Convicted Art Thief Myles to make rare public appearance at Milton Art Center on 9/26
He did the time, now ask about his crime. Myles J. Connor, Jr. wrote his autobiography with Jenny Siler, The Art of The Heist: Confessions of a Master Thief, and will make an extraordinarily rare appearance to talk about his life and involvement in art heists. The event will be at the Milton Art Center, 334 Edge Hill Street in Milton (02186) from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 at a public discussion led by Suzette Martinez Standring.
3rd Annual Fit for Life Walk/Run to benefit COA
Plans are well underway for our 3rd Annual FIT FOR LIFE WALK/RUN which will take place on Saturday, October 5th, at 9 AM. This is the Council on Aging’s major fundraiser for van transportation. Last year, they added many other components to the walk which really helped make it a financial success.
