Swing for Sports Golf & Tennis Tournament
The Milton High School Boosters annual golf and tennis tournament will take place at the Wollaston Golf Club on Monday, October 21st. This is the Boosters biggest fundraising event of the year that raised almost $30,000 last year. All proceeds go directly to the athletes of Milton High School. The golf outing will feature prizes for many holes, including a Hole in One prize. Entry fees include a box lunch, golf greens fees and cart or tennis fee, heavy hors d’oeuvres and the closing reception.
Friends of the Blue Hills Kicks Off 35th Year with Annual Celebration
In 2014, Friends of the Blue Hills will celebrate its 35th year and in honor of this milestone, the organization is launching a yearlong series of events commencing with their Annual Celebration on Thursday, October 10, from 7-9 p.m. at Fuller Village. Milton resident Jack Murray, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Department of Conservation and Recreation, will be the keynote speaker. Not all members of the Milton Womans Club are pleased with the 4 residential unit development proposed for the site of their property on Reedsdale Road but the majority are. That, along with the seeming universal support of the neighbors, appear to make the development inevitable.
Registration open for fall classes at Artspace Milton
Artspace Milton is registering students for their fall classes. There are classes for all ages from Pre-K to Gr 5. Classes blend art + nature, art+ french, and all have art + fun! Classes are held at the Milton Public Library and Glover School. You can learn more here.

MHS “Cans for Cats” bottle and can drive, and a car wash too!
The next Milton High School Boosters “Cans for Cats” can & bottle fundraising drive will be held on Saturday, October 5th, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Milton High School. The girls and boys basketball teams will be at the front entrance of the high school, 25 Gile Road, to collect your 5 cent cans and bottles to redeem them for cash.

We had met Ms. Proctor on a couple of occasions. She was diminutive in stature, but not in spirit. She had opinions and a point of view, but she was, as many of her time, courteous and a good listener. She was an accomplished artist, 97 years old, and passed away on September 23rd.
