Newcomb Farms break in suspect apprehended
Update from Milton Police Department
Regarding the Newcomb Farms nighttime burglary of last week: Tonight, Milton Detectives identified and located the suspect in the evening break-in to Newcomb Farms Restaurant on Randolph Ave. A Quincy man will be charged next week in QDC for this offense.
BOGO Sale at the Library Book Shop and Expanded December Hours
The Friends of the Milton Public Library Book Shop wants to put more fun into the holiday shopping season by offering extended hours and gift ideas for the book lovers on your list.
The Holiday Schedule for December is: Tuesdays, from 10am-2pm, Wednesdays from 10am-12pm and 6:30pm-8:30pm, Fridays from 10am-12pm, and Saturdays from 10am-2pm.
Brief bits: Hendries demo date reset for 1/31/15; Board of Health votes to expand tobacco restrictions

In a brief session yesterday morning the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to extend the deadline for demolition of the Hendries building from 11/30/14 to 1/31/15. This is the second extension. The town has a contract with Carrick Realty to jointly take down the building.

Superintendent Gormley seeks families’s input on snow days

Increasing Selectmen from 3 to 5 goes down 5 to 4 . . . but

On November 13th, the Town Government Study Committee took up a discussion of increasing the size of Board of Selectmen from 3 members to 5. A motion was made to take a vote on the matter with the intent of having an article at annual town meeting in May, and it was defeated 5 to 4. We were not present for the session but did reach out to members of the committee to learn how they voted and their reasons for the vote.

The Wakefield Estate hosts its fifth annual holiday open house December 10th
The Wakefield Estate, located at 1465 Brush Hill Road in Milton, will host its fifth annual holiday open house on Wednesday, December 10th from 4:00-8:00 pm. The 1794 Isaac Davenport Mansion house will be decked out in spectacular holiday style for this special event, one of the few events during the year where visitors are able to visit inside.
