Bob Sweeney won election to the Board of Selectmen Tuesday night narrowly defeating the incumbent Kathy Fagan by 32 votes. There were 5920 votes cast. Mr. Sweeney won by 1/2 of 1%. It was close; but a win is a win. Congratulations Mr. Sweeney!

Talk of staggering cuts to the School Department has been circulating for the last several months, but Town Meeting members will get some good news on local schools Monday: All teachers currently in the system will keep their jobs. (Read the full story here.)
The races for Selectman, School Committee and Planning Board were all very tight.
In the end, Sweeney (2976) won in a close race against incumbent Fagan (2944) in the Selectman’s race, winning by just 32 votes.
There were two precincts in town that had an extraordinary number of candidates; precincts 1 & 9. Both precincts have a current or pending land use issue.
According to the Patriot Ledger, Milton Hospital had the fourth lowest reimbursement rate out of 66 paid by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
