Mtg notes: Selectmen 08.16.10 – recommendation on bike path to be sent to DCR; warrant for special town meeting closed

August is a slow time of year and the agenda for last night’s Selectmen’s meeting reflected that. Paul Krasinski, who was scheduled to present his plans regarding the Stoughton Town Farm, did not appear. The primary issue board discussed was a letter that had been drafted by Chairman McEttrick regarding their recommendation on options being reviewed by the DCR for the extension of the Neponset bike path.

Lynch – D’Allesandro debate in the offing?

Milton resident and candidate for Congress for the 9th Congressinal District, Mac D’Allesandro, has challenged incumbent Stephen Lynch to debate. Lynch had initially been mum on the subject; but in a conversation with editors from Gatehouse Media, he said, “We’ll debate, I’m not sure it’ll be four times [referring to a request from his opponent] .  .  .  I would hope for more than one [debate].”

50th reunion for Milton High class of ’61 in the works

An organizing comittee is being formed and efforts are underway to set a date for the 50th reunion of the Milton High School class of 1961. The date has not yet been set but Sandi Pomerantz is the chair and is eager to hear from alumnin and get the word out. The Suffolk Resolves House has new caretakers

A historic Milton treasure, The Suffolk Resolves House, will have two new caretakers. Linda Pirie, President of The Milton Historical Society, has proudly announced Steve Kluskens and his wife Sheila Frazier have entered into an agreement to be resident/caretakers at the historic home at 1370 Canton Avenue, Milton.
