Paul V. Burke, a 1972 graduate of Milton High School and retired Colonel of the US Marine Corps will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Memorial Day Observance, Monday, May 25th.
Colonel Burke enlisted in the military after graduating from Loyola University in Montreal, Canada, serving first as a member of the infantry and then transferring to the air wing division of the Marines.

Recently, State Representative Walter F. Timilty welcomed fourth-grader Caroline Driscoll and her parents, Maureen and Robert, to the State House. At the State House, Caroline Driscoll had the great honor of addressing The Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators bestowed upon her, at the celebration of the august Caucus’s fortieth anniversary.

Bike Milton will lead a casual-paced ride on Saturday, May 23 to show off all the new work along the Neponset Greenway. Representatives of Patriot Properties Inc. are in the process of inspecting all properties in Milton. The Board of Assessors has contracted with the Massachusetts firm to inspect all classes of property required by statute, and to be completed later this year.

In a 4-2 vote Milton’s Conservation Commission denied a site development permit for the Hendries property last Tuesday night. The principal reason for denying the permit was a failure to satisfy the Commission’s desire for open space.
