Library Director Will Adamczyk addresses Rotary Club

Milton Public Library director, Will Adamczyk, was the speaker at the Rotary Club on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Adamczyk was there to talk about the Library’s successes in recent years, and the new focus on the Library’s strategic plan. The Library has seen incredible usage growth across the board since the new building opened six years ago. Library circulation is up, as are visits and program attendance.

66 guns, ammunition found at Milton home after domestic shooting

Dozens of guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition were found in a Milton home following a domestic shooting.
Milton police say they made the discovery inside an Eliot Street apartment after a woman allegedly shot her boyfriend. According to court records, Jacqueline Scott is now charged with assault to murder a person over the age of 60 and firearms charges. (Read the full story here.) The streetscape improvements associated with a MassWorks grant secured with the assistance of Senator Joyce are underway. The improvements include new sidewalks, LED lights, and most noticeably a new bump out in front of Radio Coffeehouse.
38th Milton Road Race is coming up soon!
The 38th Annual Milon Road Race takes place June 9th at 6:30pm. The start is at Cunninghma Pakr. The race is produced by the Junior Women’s Club and proceeds go their scholarship program. It is a great event (even if it does rain which has been known to happen). There is a 5k and a 10K – something for everybody. Hope you can make it – you can register online here.

Calling All Plant and Pollinator Lovers – Wakefield Estate is having a Plug Sale!
The Wakefield Estate is starting what is hoped will become an annual tradition(like girl scout cookies!): a “plug” sale! The estate is offering native plugs for sale to members of local garden clubs and the public. A landscape plug is a plant that is almost as big as those you buy at fancy garden centers and is ready to take off and grow, but just hasn’t been put in a big pot with a marketing labels.
