Sherlock Holmes matches wits with Irene Adler in the film, A Scandal in Bohemia (1984). The one-hour episode from the TV series, “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” will play on Tuesday, August 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the Milton Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Library and is part of the Milton Reads special events.

A public hearing was held on the East Milton Parking & Design project. The focus was on traffic. A key recommendation made by the consulting team, Howard/Stein-Hudson, is that the slip lane, which allows traffic flowing eastbound on Adams to turn north onto Granite Avenue, should stay.

When my wife and I visit southern California we find a place to stay using Flipkey or Airbnb. These online services handle booking and payment for people who want to rent out their homes, condos, or a room to out-of- towners. You can find interesting places to stay at reasonable prices like this spot we stayed in a couple weeks ago in the Berkshires. Not surprisingly, there are offerings here in Milton.

Yesterday was the deadline for bids to an RFP issued by the town for demolition services to remove the portion of the Hendries building owned by the town. The town received one bid for the job. Aside from being the only bidder, there are three notable items regarding the bid.
