Burr hopes to translate Canton experience into Beacon Hill office

Schools to receive $327K in federal jobs funding

Senator Brian A. Joyce and Representatives Walter F. Timilty, Linda Dorcena Forry and Angelo Scaccia recently announced that Milton will receive an additional $327,683 in funding for the public schools from the federal Education Jobs Fund.

Milton Farmer’s Market commemorated

This was Milton Farmer’s Market week here in Massachusetts and yesterday Senator Joyce was on hand to read  a proclamation from the Governor at the Milton Farmer’ Market.

A fun 6 mi run: Houghton’s Pond Trail Race

If you are a runer this sounds like fun! There will be a 6 mile run in the Blue Hills sponsored by the Colonial Road Runners Club October 3rd @ 9:00am. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Blue Hills.

Milton teachers reject Race to the Top

Greenway trail will avoid Milton section, reports Sen. Joyce

The Dorchester Reporter has a good follow up article on the status of the “Greenway trail” (the extensin of the bike path from Central Avenue to Mattapan Square). It makes referene to a porposal from The Neponset Greenway Council that features a “spur” close to Capen Street.

Pockets of flooding in Milton

Not surprisingly there are significant puddles in town this morning. There is a small pond where Brook Road intersects Adams Street. Drive carefully.
