For Milton parish, a reason to rejoice

Martha McArthur and Cozie Bailey put their gray heads together and worked side by side last Sunday at the Parkway United Methodist Church in Milton, slicing coffee cake and arranging crackers on trays. McArthur is white and was baptized in the church in the late 1930s. Bailey is black and a relative newcomer, having joined the church 25 years ago. (read full story)

Globe Editorial: Greener in Hyde Park

THE GREENWAY being created along the Neponset River got a major boost from the Patrick administration last week: $5 million to improve a 3-mile section in Hyde Park. But the administration also must tackle the unresolved problem of connecting the Hyde Park green space, which it has dubbed the Neponset Esplanade, with an existing stretch of parkland in Milton and Dorchester.
