The annual “strawberry festival” June 26 at the Milton Farmers’ Market will feature the native sweet berries, shortcake, other produce in season from local farms and more.
Local artisans will offer custom made totes for sale, floral arrangements and artwork. As usual, food booths will also offer local bakery products, flowering plants, fresh lobsters from the south shore and a variety of local seafoods, meat products, cheeses and fresh native eggs.
Some of the local produce items are tomatoes, various lettuces, herbs, fingerling potatoes, yellow and zucchini squash. Vegetable seedlings, local honey and coffee are also available.
Last week a jazz quartet of former Milton High students entertained for an hour and other musical entertainment is planned this year.
The market in the town park on Wharf Street in Milton Village is every Thursday, 1 to 6 p.m., rain or shine till October. The shady green park plus the nearby Neponset make for an inviting location. See you there!
