Mtg notes: Selectmen 09.08.10 – Ulin Rink agreement slogs on
Last night (9/8) Selectmen were hopeful of signing an agreement for Curry College to operate the Ulin Rink. However, the Labor Day Holiday coupled with the fact that there are three parties to the agreement (ie Town of Milton, DCR, and Curry College) and their respective legal counsels, each of whom needs to review any change large or small made by any of the other parties, results in a process that is anything but quick.

Mtg notes: Selectmen 09.02.10 – Ulin Rink follow up; East Milton Library discussed
At the September 2nd meeting of the Board of Selectmen, the discussion included but was not limited to the following:
- Tim Kernan of the Ulin Rink Management Corp (URMC), one of two bidders to operate the Ulin Rink, addressed the board during Citizen Speak. He commented on the Selectmen’s decision to award the rink to Curry College and to set the record straight with regard to certain statements regarding URMC that were made during the deliberations.
National Day of Service (9/11)- MPD, MFD, MHS & “Life is Good” festival call for support
The Milton Public Schools are asking for support and contributions as part of the “Life Is Good” Festival event which is joining with local partners including the Milton Police and Fire Departments to assemble care packages for local troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. This service event is one of thousands of taking place across the country on 9/11.

Selectmen seek community input on E. Milton Library, Stoughton land
At the recent Board of Selectmen’s meeting, Chairman McEttrick and her colleagues encouraged residents to send in their thoughts and ideas regarding the East Milton Library and the Stoughton Land. The East Milton Library is costing the town about $6,000 a year to maintain. The Selectmen are eager to find tenants.
