A beautiful, crushing snow

The snow that fell left a wonderful white blanket . . . also weighed a tremendous amount and took a toll on the town’s trees.

The large pines on the west side of Turner’s Pond that stand to the right as you pull into the Central Ave entrance.

Granite Links tees up lawsuit against town of Milton

The shot many were waiting for the Granite Links Golf Club to take has been taken. Quarry Hills, the firm that owns the Granite Links course which straddles Quincy and Milton, is suing the town to stop construction of a wind turbine.

Groves gets first Walpole wrestling victory vs. Milton

After a long layoff following a 45-18 loss to Bay State Carey leader Framingham, the Walpole wrestling team got back to its winning ways with a successful run at the highly competitive Marshfield Holiday Tourney and a 67-9 rout of Milton Thursday night, running the team’s dual meet record to 4-1. New battle over most Irish town in America

And no it is not Milton, though we are up there. Evidently there is a battle between Scituate and Spring Lake, NJ (where, coincidently, I used to spend my summers as a boy.) The Irish Central is running a pool and arbitrating the results. Given the size of the Irish population here, it natural this might be of interest. You can find the story here.

Time for some winter fun

There are a lot of things you can say about this weather  but it does deliver opportunities for fun. And Milton is a great place to enjoy winter weather. Here are some suggestions.
