The FAME Bottle & Can Drive, which takes place on Saturday, April 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the entrance to the high school. Save those empties!
The Milton High School Faculty/Staff Talent Show will be held on Thursday, March 21st and Friday, March 22nd in the Charles C. Winchester Auditorium at 7 pm.

One hundred and thiryt-four runners completed the 2nd annual Milton St Paddy’s Day 5K this morning. The day was a bit on the cool side but runners don’t care. The race was run as a fundraiser for the MHS Rugby team and also to “chase the snakes out of Milton.” And it was fun.

Representative Walter Timilty has filed a bill to protect Fowl Meadow part of the Blue Hills Reservation off Brush Hill Road. The proposed Mill Creek Development is in proximity to Fowl Meadow, an area of critical environmental concern. The bill would prevent development “within 1000 feet of that portion of the Town of Milton and the Town of Canton, the so-called Fowl Meadow

The Milton Public Library’s teen book club has selected Shadow and Bone, a young adult fantasy novel about a land under attack by flesh eating monsters and the young woman who may have the power to save it, as its April pick.
Occasionally stepping into the Cronin Conference Room can be akin to an adventure in Wonderland. Last night the Planning Board heard the application for an ANR on Hillside and the Mad Hatter’s tea party was under way. Attorney Marion McEttrick sought approval for an ANR (approval not required) application to build a home on Hillside Street on a set of lots owned by John Fandrey. No sooner did she take a seat at the table than Mr. Whiteside, Chair, quickly challenged the application on two points.

When the clock struck 5:00 yesterday afternoon the following candidates had submitted their nomination papers. These papers are being reviewed by the Town Clerk’s office and if signatures are in order (candidates for town wide office require 50 signatures) they will be on the ballot for the election on April 30. There were some surprises.
