Work by Joyce Caggiano on exhibit at MPL

Screen Shot 2015-05-22 at 8.13.35 AMDuring the month of June 2015, the Milton Public Library will display the art of local resident Joyce Caggiano. Ms. Caggiano has been drawing and painting since childhood and has received many honors for her work. During the past 20 years she has exhibited at Gross Pointe and Detroit, MI; Burlington, VT; at the Jefferson Cutter House in Arlington, MA; and at the Milton Art Center.

As an ordained Episcopal priest, Joyce has been immersed in an active ministry at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Milton, and she believes that spirituality and the aesthetic are at the core of all creative human expression. The spiritual life sustains and nourishes her creativity, and she travels to her home in Italy every summer where she finds the time and inspiration to develop her craft. This exhibit will show her unique approach to nature through the static animation of ancient Italian olive trees. The title of it is “Slow Dancing,” which refers to the thousand year dance movement seen through the eyes of the artist. There will be a free and open reception in the Wotiz Gallery on Thursday, June 4th from 6-8 PM so please come and meet the artist. For more information about displaying your art at the Milton Public Library, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757, x. 3.
