Brian Mantville in the race for Parks Commissioner

The following was submitted by the candidate

Screen Shot 2015-04-13 at 2.20.21 PMMy name is Brian Mantville. I am a long time Milton resident living on Rose St. with my wife, Nicole, and daughters, Julia and Alyson. I’ve been a Milton Firefighter since 2002 and currently serve as the Secretary/Treasurer of Milton Firefighters Local 1116. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Anna Maria College. I’ve also owned and operated Veneto & Sons Oil Company for the past 10 years.

I’m running for Milton Parks Commissioner for my love of Milton and one of its greatest resources, it’s parks. My daughters grew up playing at these parks and now play softball on them; I would like to see them maintained so future generations can enjoy them as well.

There are many things I would like to do as Parks Commissioner, first and foremost is to explore all viable options for more green space. There is a huge influx of new sports such as rugby, lacrosse and Gaelic football and not enough park space to accommodate all of these sports.

I’m also very passionate about maintaining some of the great programs that are already in place such as Gym Buddies, sports clinics and expanding some of the trips for our senior community.

I am a good candidate for the position of Parks Commissioner due to the fact I am frequently on these fields. Additionally, the experience I have gained and relationships I’ve built through my leadership position within the Milton Firefighters Local 1116 Executive Board would be an asset to this office.

While I was was Fire Chief I had the pleasure of interviewing & hiring Brian. During the hiring process Brian would stop by my office and remind me how serious he was about being a Milton Firefighter and asking how long it would take to complete process. I am sure this same persistence will make him an effective Park Commissioner as it has made him an exceptional Firefighter. Brian is not shy about speaking up and aggressively but respectfully pursuing his goals. A quality that will serve Milton well if you vote for him as I plan on doing.

I met Brian Mantville ten years ago and since that time I have come to know him as a devoted family man and a dedicated Milton Firefighter. I also know Brian as a good neighbor and a great friend.
All the qualities that Brian brings to his many relationships, I know he will bring to the duties of Park Commissioner and Town Meeting Member.
Please join me in voting for Brian Mantville for the positions of Park Commissioner and Town Meeting Member Precinct 8 on Tuesday, April 28trh.
