MHS Girls win nail biter, move on in MIAA tournament play

The Milton Booster reported the thrilling end to a hard fought game on their Facebook page:

In the fourth round of the shootout, Siobhan Murtaugh scored! The girls hockey team is going on to the next round!!! Congratulations!!

It sounds like it was all defense all the time on both sides of the puck. The Ashland Medway Mustangs and the Wildcats played to a 0-0 tie in regulation, and it remained 0-0 after two overtimes. That MHS goalie must be something. Congrats to all!

Milton (7th seed) will take on Wellesley (2nd seed) in Bourne at a date and time to be announced. You can find the  complete MIAA Div 2 Girls Hockey Tournament bracket here.

The Boys MHS hockey team (6th seed) went to the MIAA Div 1 tournament but were upset Friday night by Marshfield (11th seed) in the first round. Marshfield won in a nail biter of another sort. Both teams put on a tremendous offensive display but Marshfield prevailed 7-6.
