New Partnership Offers Summer Reading for Preschoolers

Looking for a fun place to read with your preschooler this summer? As part of an Early Literacy Advancement Initiative, the Milton Public Schools, the Milton Public Library and Milton Early Childhood Alliance are teaming up to offer “Summertime Stories for Preschoolers” at two locations this summer.

MPL’s Children’s Librarian, Sara Truog, will be reading stories to groups of young people at both the Tucker School and Cunningham Hall. There will be cold treats and free, age-appropriate books for families who attend.

This is not a drop-off event. Summertime Stories for Preschoolers will be held:

Wednesday, August 6th at 10 a.m. at the Tucker Elementary School Library
Wednesday, August 6th at 12 noon at Cunningham Hall (between morning and afternoon swim times!)
Wednesday, August 13th at 10 a.m. at the Tucker Elementary School Library
Wednesday, August 13th at 12 noon at Cunningham Hall

The Cunningham Hall session has been timed so that families who are enjoying Cunningham Pool can simply walk up the hill with their preschoolers to enjoy story-time during the pool’s mid-day closure. This is also a great chance for parents and guardians to be informed of the many resources available both from the Milton Public Schools, Milton Early Childhood Alliance and the Milton Public Library.
