Fontbonne Students Run the Tufts 10K Race

The Fontbonne Academy Cross Country Team ran in the Tufts 10K race on Monday, October 14, under the guidance of their coach, Abby Young. The team has included this race into their fall competition schedule for the past two years; the field is all women and the annual race raises funds for healthcare organizations. Fifteen students came out on sunny Columbus Day and raced in and aroundBoston, starting and ending on Boston Common. Olympian Joan Benoit Samuelson was present at the finish line to congratulate runners as music blared. “It’s a fun race for our girls who really get a sense of a greater sisterhood through this event.  Many of them ran personal bests,” said coach Abby Young.
