Reminder: Documentary, Searching for Sugar Man – at the Milton Library

Meet Rodriguez—and his fans—at the screening of the film, Searching for Sugar Man at the Milton Public Library, Thursday, November 14, at 6:30pm. Two record producers hear Rodriguez in a 1960’s night club in Detroit and immediately sign him to a recording contract, confident that he’s going to be America’s next and biggest rock icon. Instead, the album tanks, Rodriguez disappears from the scene…and he becomes a rock phenomenon in South Africa?

Rodriguez’s true story, not the tale of urban legends, is told by two of Rodriguez’s South African fans in the documentary film, Searching for Sugar Man. Meet Rodriguez, hear his music and listen to the story of the 70’s rock icon that we never knew.

This event is sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library and it is free and open to the public. The film is rated PG 13 and light refreshments will be served. For more information, visit www.miltonlibrary.org or contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 697-5757.
