Letter: Sen Joyce follow up on FAA flight path change (& related documents)

Dear Neighbor,

I wanted to let you know that the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) proposed flight path changes for Runway 33L of Logan Airport have gone into effect. However, to address the concerns raised by my constituents, the FAA has implemented an unprecedented six month review period regarding the flight path changes.

If you notice a change in airplane noise in your community, I would encourage you to email Terry English at the FAA at: Terry.English@faa.gov.

I would also recommend calling Massport’s Noise Complaint Line at: (617) 561-3333. This line is staffed by Massport’s Noise Abatement Office from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. The office maintains a 24-hour consumer hotline that allows Logan’s neighbors to report excessive airport noise.

I have also attached a document provided by the FAA that shows the updated flight paths, now that the planes are using satellite-based navigation instead of land-based navigation. (Editor’s note: please see below.)

Sincerely,

Senator Brian A. Joyce
