Brief bit: Selectmen appoint Granite Ave Study Committee

Senator Brian A. Joyce is working to secure a deal with the state to acquire between 6 – 11 acres of land on Granite Avenue, a lot belonging to the Mass DOT. At a recent meeting of the Board of Selectmen some concern was voiced about what might be done with the lot. It has come under discussion at recent Master Plan forums. Senator Joyce recommended appointing a committee to evaluate the opportunity. Last night the Board of Selectmen did that. They unanimously voted to appoint the following residents to the 7 person committee:

  • Ellen Anselone (Morton Road) – Architect
  • Brian Beane (Granite Avenue) – Sales Manager & resident of the “lot” neighborhood
  • Cindy Christiansen (Collomore Street) – Statistician
  • Andrea Doherty (Thistle Avenue) – Nurse & resident of the “lot” neighborhood
  • Brian Furtze (Brush Hill Road) – Real Estate Developer
  • April Lamoureux (Brook Road) – Distribution Manager
  • Jeanne Schmidt (Buckingham Road) – Office Manager
