MARVIN A. GORDON, Milton: Vote out two selectmen for ousting Kevin Mearn as town administrator

August 3, 2012

from The Patriot Ledger

Fellow voters, with your votes please do NOT renew the contracts of the two selectmen who last week brought dishonor on our town in its 350th year by their disgraceful action in rejecting the contract renewal of our exemplary, dedicated and fully competent town administrator, Kevin Mearn, a town employee of 38 years. (Read the full text of Mr. Gordon’s letter to the Ledger here.)

I know the perfect candidate that could replace one of the two Selectmen in 2013 — KEVIN MEARN! I seriously think he would be the perfect candidate for our town. What do others think?

    Lena ,
What a marvelous idea. A solid citizen with an impeccable record . I hope he will accept a draft.
Margaret and Jimmy did a great job raising those kids.

    Paul Yovino
It is people like you ,well you, who have patiently, politely tried to keep this town and it’s citizens honest.
Thanks for trying to keep us on the right track . It. Is so important that good people speak out and speak up
When bad things happen. Thank you .

Mr. Kevin Mearn recently fired by 2 members of the Milton Board of Selectman situation reminds me of the Kevin Youkilis saga. Except there is no Will Middlebrooks waiting to take Kevin’s place. Bob Sweeney has allowed petty differences to get in the way of sound judgement. Let’s hope the price the taxpayers of Milton have to pay isn’t too high. Sorry I voted for ya BOB.

Thank you, Patricia, but I shouldn’t be the focus of attention. Everyone who signed the petition asking the two recalcitrant selectmen to reconsider their vote as well as those who have posted here and elsewhere in addition to those who spoke at last Monday’s and Thursday’s selectmen’s meeting deserve equal accolades.
