At last week’s Planning Board meeting member Bernie Lynch provided the board with the disclosure letter he had written regarding his work with Connelly Construction.
Connelly Construction has a development before the Planning Board. Mr. Lynch from time to time is contracted by the firm to perform inspections. When the matter came up Mr. Lynch made the disclosure persuant to G.L.c. 268A, sec23(b)(3). He filed the letter with the Town Clerk in September of 2010.
Chairman Whiteside commented that including the letter in the public record protects the public interest and let’s people know “we are on the up and up.”
You can find the text of the letter here.

A conflict of interest is a conflict of interest is a conflict of interest.
You would not expect anything less from Bernie Lynch.
There is a much bigger issue here than Bernie Lynch scratching a couple of walls looking for lead paint in some buildings that Connolly Construction is buying. Fact is, Bernie Lynch has been a home inspector for as long as I can remember and has done work for everyone around here. To say that he should recuse himself because of that is silly. I want to know why the seven to ten people a constantly beating the drums over the Connolly project and have stayed quiet on the Milton Hill House project a just down the street. It is so obvious from the the Board to the seven to ten people that there is an agenda here for someone. The process and the people need to be looked at. While we are at it, maybe put some rules in place that town officials can not under any circumstances do work for any project the members of the planning board had any influence on on.
