Mtg Notes: Plan’g Brd 07.26.12 – Still no vote on Hendries

Despite urging by the public present at the meeting and the expectation of the developer’s attorney, the Planning Board resisted taking a vote on the granting of a bonus to Connelly Construction, developer of the Hendries site at 131 Eliot Street. The attorney, William McDermott, was hopeful the bonus would be granted; the residents in attendance recommended it be denied. Neither got their wish. Read more »

South Shore residents don’t have to go to Kentucky to see what President Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace looked like. They can just drive to Milton, where a replica of the cabin is outside the Forbes House Museum. (Read the full story here.)

I-93 in Milton to be disrupted by road work

Weekend driving on I-93 will be bogged down by construction and multiple lane closures.

Road reconstruction and paving will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday on the section of I-93 North in the vicinity of the Ponkapoag Trail bridge, Exit 3. (Read the full story here.)
