Notice: EEE threat raised to moderate

News release from Milton Board of Health

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) announced yesterday evening that Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) has been detected in mosquitoes collected in the town of Canton.  As a result, the risk level in neighboring towns, including Milton, is being raised from “low” to “moderate.”

The Milton Board of Health reminds everyone to follow the standard precautionary measures listed below issued from the MDPH.  By taking a few, common-sense precautions, people can help to protect themselves and their loved ones. Read more »

Milton Triathletes Complete at Ironman Lake Placid

(Lake Placid, NY) – On Sunday, June 22nd, Milton resident Michael Lamoureux completed his second 140-mile Ironman triathlon in Lake Placid, NY. Completing a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile marathon in 10 hours, 28 minutes and 13 seconds, he was the 75th finisher out of 2,500 athletes. Read more »

Historical Society to publish letters of Milton Civil War veteran

A seventeen year old Milton man enlisted in the Union Army 150 years ago – August 2, 1862. George Henry Moulton was 5’ 6”with sandy hair and hazel eyes, by the recruiter’s description. He kept his commitment to “serve out” his “three year enlistment” and over the course of it wrote sixty-one letters to his family. Read more »

“Night of the Living Dead” at the Milton Public Library
