Mtg Notes: School Committee 06.14.12 – Candidates for open school committee seat interviewed

The School Committee has a difficult decision to make.They had brief 15 minute interviews last night with 11 residents who had expressed interest in filling the open school committee seat. As one candidate noted, “This is a tremendous [applicant] pool.” That is a good problem; but winnowing it down to one will be a challenge. The committee did not deliberate at last night. The next step is a joint meeting with the Board of Selectmen on the 19th. Read more »

Sen. Joyce Sponsors Funding for Senior Programs in Milton

State Senator Brian A. Joyce recently co-sponsored an amendment that will restore the Councils on Aging (COA) state Formula Grant back to seven dollars per senior per year following a reduction in the last year to $6.25 that left many COAs struggling to provide the best possible services for our seniors.
