PLANTS & FLOWERS & COMPOST! Oh my! You will find a wide range of great stuff for the home garden today as both the Milton Garden Club (perennials) and Milton Amateur Gardeners (annuals)host their annual events. They are right across the street from each other; one at the library, the other by the Gazebo. And there is so much more to do! The MA Memories Road Show at the library & an Open House at Blue Hills Observatory.

Library Director McNulty leaving Milton for Newton

In an announcement at a staff social event held last week at the home of Andrea and Marvin Gordon, Library Director Phil McNulty announced that he was leaving Milton to take a postion with the Newton Library system. The news came as a surprise to those in attendence which included a majority of the staff and trustees. Read more »

Annual Spring Open House at the Observatory

Join us for our Spring Open House to take a tour of our facility, enjoy the view from the summit of Great Blue Hill and participate in many fun activities. Activities include presentations on weather and climate, kite making and flying, tagged balloon releases, self guided tours with interpreters throughout the facility, and tables for the WINS program, MWO, NWS, and Friends of the Blue Hills. Amateur Milton Gardeners Plant Sale

The AMG plant sale featuring annuals, hangers plants, herbs and some veggies will take place on May12, from 8:00AM-12:00PM at Town Hall. All proceeds will benefit town beautification and scholarships for Milton High School students.

The Milton Garden Club will hold its Perennial and Compost Sale on the Milton Public Library
Lawn on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 8:00 to 10:00 am, rain or shine.

The treasures for sale include perennial plants from member gardens and other distant nurseries specially selected to thrive in Milton’s environmental conditions and to re-bloom year after year. Read more »
